I am a New Zealand Citizen. My husband is a New Zealand Permanent Resident. Can my Husband automatically move with me to Australia?

My husband has a French Passport, but recently received his indefinite permanent residence for New Zealand. I am very keen to move to Australia because of the warmer weather. Where can I find information on this?

Seeing your husband is only a permanent resident of NZ, he doesn't have any special rights to live and work in Australia as NZ citizens do. So he will have to apply for a visa to be able to move over with you. There are a few different ones available that you should look through:

The NZ citizen family relationship visa: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/461/ Partner visa: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/family-visas-partner.htm

Or he could apply for a skilled migrant visa or other permanent visa if he wants a permanent visa under his own right: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/
