I have a brother that used to live in Australia. He got a summons to court, but found out when he was over in NZ. How do we find out if he's allowed back in Australia?

It's probably not so much that he will not be allowed back into Australia, but that he may be arrested upon arrival for ignoring a court summons. If he does go back, he needs to be prepared to face the consequences.

Under Australian law it's not a criminal offense but a civil matter and the matter may have been dealt with without you being present. Thefor, creating yourself a commonwealth debt. If you pay tax to New Zealand Inland Revenue, it would automatically be deducted from your end of financial year New Zealand Tax Return. Depending on the amount incorrectly not declared to Australian Customs (www.customs.gov.au) and Immigration Australia (www, immi, gov.au) which keep records of movements but you will be be able to obtain information from their websites. So I don't see why it should be a problem.
