Is there an upper age limit for becoming an Australian permanent resident for NZ citizens?

After 45 it does become a lot harder to become an Australian permanent resident, simply because the most common permanent visa - the skilled migration visa - has a cut-off age of 45. There are other visas that can lead to permanent residence, such as being sponsored by an employer or family visas, but these can be more difficult to get.
