What if you have an IRD debt (with a record of regular repayments) and want to move to Australia?
Will you be stopped at the border? Can you pay it off from Australia? Does the Australian Tax Office get involved at all?

it depends what part of ird you owe money to...student loan and child support will stop you but if it is tax or family assistance you should be fine.

hi, i have a debt with ird, get out of dodge while the gettings good. don't tell them.
