Can I get family assistance/working for families in Australia?

I am a Kiwi solo mum about to move to Australia with my 7-year-old daughter and wondered if there is any working for families assistance that I might qualify for whilst working in Australia? Thank you

As a single mum already based in sydney, They do offer a small amount of around $150-170 per week(however i am paid fortnightly) Its not much at all compared to NZ, also they do not provide any other assistance like NZ, eg. help with food? nup! help with school uniform/books? long shot..

To be honest, I Think the Australian Welfare system doesnt really do much for there New Zealand counterparts, Only if you apply for citizenship which takes two years to process, will you be able to claim full benefits like everyone else here...

other than that there are many other great benefits..like tax back, and MR Rudd's Stimulus packages! "keep em coming"!lol

ACTUALLY!!! i am a mum myself here in melbourne and i definately know that australia pays more than nz does!! no one can say how much you will get because it is based on what you earn a year before tax and the age of your children. no matter what, you have to give a yearly estimation when claiming. i am a new zealander and i am on a good income so i guess the more you earn the better. I also can get childcare subsidy for my son that is way better than what nz offers!!! and i am a holder of a SCV!!
