Does your SCV 444 visa get canceled when you are granted permanent residency?

I’m in the process of going through a partner visa and just curious to know what happens to the 444 after that? Does it become invalid? I’m asking because I’d like to sponsor someone using the New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship (temporary visa).
