Are New Zealand citizens covered for doctors visits and pathology when travelling in Australia?

If you become sick or heaven forbid involved in an accident, while travelling through aussie, you have two options, u will have to have health cover insurance, or attend the public hospital, emergency dept, they do not charge, this is free, due to an agreement between aus/nz govt. You will need to provide proof i.e. passport, if you are not kiwi or aussie, you will have to pay
