Disability Australia

I am a NZ Citizen on a disability pension. When I move to Australia will I still get my disability pension?

Hi Ray,

It's unclear whether you would qualify for a disability payment in Australia. Generally New Zealanders don't unless they've lived in Australia for more than 10 years. But in some cases the social security agreement with New Zealand applies. Long story short, you'll need to contact Centrelink to check your specific situation: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/disability-support-pension

Sorry I can't be of further help!

The contact number within Australia is 132 717 or +61 3 6216 0864 from outside Australia
