Can I go back to Australia after being arrested on holiday and deported to NZ?

I have lived in Australia for over 10 years, recently went on holiday to Thailand where i was arrested for possession of 2 grams of weed and deported back to NZ where i have no ties. I have no convictions in Australia or New Zealand and have filled in the consent disclosure form and told them about Thailand but have not been asked for any supporting paper work.... the waiting game is getting to me as it has already been 3 weeks
