Finding Construction Work?

I'm a construction site Foreman/supervisor with qualifications in carpentry and construction management, working in Christchurch and am considering moving to Australia. As I'm working in a senior role does any one have any idea of the chances of me finding a similar role? Will Australian employers be interested in hiring me not having any experience in Australia. Are there many differences between the building codes? Will my qualifications be recognised over there?
