Im about to lose my job on 457 visa. Can i work in other areas on a 457 besides what I'm skilled in?
Hello, I work in recruitment and due to not meeting ridiculous deadlines etc it looks like i will be losing my job very soon. I am currently on a 457 visa and have been so for 9 months now.
My question is: If i no longer wish to work in recruitment and would like to choose another career path, is it possible for me to do so on a 457 visa?
If not can someone please tell me what my options are.

I am currently working in Australia on a 457 Skilled Work Visa. I was just made redundant. Based on my conversation with the immigration attorney that prepared my visa i have 90 days from the day immigration is notified to find another employer that will take over the sponsorship of my Visa. If not I will have to leave the country.
You can change field on a 457 Visa but it has to be processed through Immigration. I hope this helps.
