Has anyone moved with primary school aged children? Do you need to go private to meet NZ standards?
Any comments on the education system and if it is necessary to go private in oz to meet the same level of nz public schools? Be interested to hear from any teachers.

It depends where you are. We have just spent a year in Kuranda Far North Queensland above Cairns and I homeschooled as the schools had terrible reputations but we are moving to the Sunshine coast where there are a few very good state schools so they will be going in 2016 and hopefully I will get some relief teaching opportunities. Private schools are expensive and also put a lot of pressure on their students (that would put me off!)
