Would I have enough points as an undergraduate in a NZ university to immigrate?

So I'm currently doing a double degree in politics and law at Canterbury University and I'm interested in immigrating to become a legal officer for the air force in Australia. (Yes I am getting good grades in my courses, maintaining that B average.) As recommended in the guide I should apply early, I've currently in my second year of my 6 years of study. And I'm only 20 at the moment.

My thought Is I can apply for a permanent residency visa while I study and by the time I graduate, I only need to find a legal job in Australia and reside there for a year. I can speak and write Chinese fluently because my family immigrated to New Zealand from China when I was two, so I possess an extra language skill.

Would these factors help me when they tally up my points when considering my application for a visa? Or would I have to graduate to even be remotely considered for residency in Australia.

Please give me your opinions or any facts Thanks Walt.
