What are the rights of returning Australian citizens, who have been out of the country for over 20 years?

I lived and worked in Australia between 1981-1989. During that time I applied for and was granted Australian Citizenship. Do I still retain citizen rights even though I haven't lived in Australia for over 20 years?

Yes, unless you became a citizen of another country before April 4, 2002. See this page for how your citizenship can be lost or revoked:
