Power/Gas - do you need to pay a bond

Hi there, When setting up your power account is there a bond you have to pay. Are there any documents you need to provide?

Hi Lynn, You don't have to pay a bond to get your power connected, but you usually have to provide some identification like your passport number. When you first arrive in Australia, it's a good idea to carry your passport and some other ID like a driver's licence and credit card with you for the first couple of weeks, as you'll often need them for opening up new accounts etc! We used On the Move to set up all our electricity and phone after arriving into Australia and it made things very easy: http://www.onthemove.com.au/web/index.html
