I have outstanding credit card and phone bills (total AUD 6,000) since 2006. Can I re-enter Australia in 2010?

You shouldn't have any problems re-entering the country, but you could still be tracked down by the companies you owe money to and asked to pay your outstanding debts. Your credit history will also be bad, so it may be hard to get a credit card or any other kind of finance in Australia.

In 2001 I left Australia to come back to NZ. I left big telephone and hire purchase bills. I'm thinking of going back for a holiday in 2014. Will I be stopped at Customs?
