Finding employment before moving to Australia

I'm looking to move over to Australia but would ideally like to find employment first. Did you secure employment before making the move or after? I'm using Seek.com.au and other Australian recruitment agencies via the internet to assist with employment.

It's very difficult to find employment in Australia before moving over, as Australian employers don't tend to take any applications from overseas seriously. The exception would be if you have a rare skill or are highly qualified in something. The best you can usually do is contact prospective employers, send them your resume and arrange for an interview upon arrival.
