Does my NZ civil union have any legal standing in Australia?

Hi jjkiwi,

Australia currently has civil unions in the Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and Victoria. The Federal Government recognises these state and territory civil unions for the purposes of federal entitlements, but they are not recognised by other states.

Cheers, Grace
