Buying a freehold share of a house in Sydney area

We are British and have a daughter living near Sydney. We would like to visit for approx. one month annually and have considered buying a 12th share of the freehold of a house if a scheme like this exists in the area. Has anyone out there ever heard of such a scheme in Australia? I'd be grateful to hear from you please. Thanks
