Are NZ citizens receiving a pension in Australia subsidised for aged care facilities?

I'm a NZ citizen. I and my family moved to Australia in 2005 and I had owned a business in Australia for 8 years, it sold already. So total 12 years in Australia. I am 62 now, I am wondering how to apply for a NZ age pension in Australia when I am 65?

Not sure about what applies re the time frame you have been in Aus but you need to wait until 67 for the pension in Aus even as a NZer (and NZ is 65). You also have to qualify for the pension under the Australian Asset test, the same as Australians need to. NZ pay the Australian govt the pro rata pension you were in NZ and they top up the rest. If you qualify re assets! The home you live in is not part of the asset test. Can't remember the $ but a single person can only have assets of I think about A$287k and a couple, about A$487K.
