Has anyone from New Zealand gone over to Australia ticked holiday on the departure card and decided to just live there and not return? Can you do that?

Yes you can do that - all New Zealanders are given the SCV on arrival automatically I believe. The holiday/permanent questions is more for statistical purposes I think. Only New Zealanders entering Australia with criminal convictions or TB will have any problems.

Just to confirm regarding this question. It doesn't matter whatever I sign on the arrival card into Australia and I can still live, work in Australia?.
