Moving to Australian as New Zealand permanent residents

Can we move to Australia on our New Zealand permanent residency visa? Or do we need to be Citizens living in New Zealand for 5 years plus first? We emigrated from South Africa recently and are in the process of getting permanent residency in New Zealand, therefore we're wondering if we can move to Australia when we have received our NZ PR?

Trying to use New Zealand as a shortcut and backdoor to get into Australia. You should be ashamed of yourselves. All this does is gives us hard working real kiwis a bad name over here.

We are also in NZ originally from South Africa. Immigrating is damn hard work and stresseful! We are now going to OZ after being in NZ for 6 yrs. Unfortunately you arent told that you will not earn liveable money in NZ as a skilled person, will never afford to buy a home etc.... I guess whilst we love NZ, we need to live & retire. When Oz offers the money & opportunity you have to consider it. So moving there hasnt been an easy decision, by no means. Citizenship in NZ takes more than a year after application & also costs a heap of money AGAIN!. i dont think anyone would consider immigrating again if you can help it.

Have we helped you? You can help keep this site running without paying us a cent and save money in the process!
