Does your nz passport have to stay valid while in Australia?
I've been in Australia 7years now. My passport expired 2 years ago and haven't renewed it. I was wondering if I'm meant to keep it valid while living here or can I leave it expired and just renew when I next Intend to travel?

Yes you can stay without renewing it but some times you may need it for identifying purposes and other things along the way. It is a very important document.

If you wish to become an Australian citizen, you need a current passport as it's one of the questions you need to complete in order to proceed with the application
