NZ Citizen on dialysis looking to move to Australia. Is a medicare number needed for dialysis treatment at public hospital?
Can't get medicare number till he arrives but yet hospital asking for medicare number. Can't wait till gets medicare as needs dialysis treatment 3 days a week and can't risk having him sit there in limbo waiting for medicare number.

Email international.services@humanservices.gov.au they specialise in kiwis - Aus I have found the above and c/link very good if you keep asking questions and keep calm the system does work. Inform me how you go I will see if I can help further
