Moving to Sydney, Jan 2017 but my son will be starting intermediate school here in NZ
Moving to Sydney Jan 2017. My son should be starting intermediate school here in NZ. Will that be the same in Sydney? He's 11yrs ..turns 12yrs in May 2017.

They don't really have Intermediate in Australia. My kids went straight from Primary to High School. When we moved my children had to go back a grade, but that was in Melbourne. I suggest asking that they test your son to assess his grade. My kids repeated heaps of work, but I guess this made for a smoother transition for them. BTW they love it here.
